* Standardize logistics processes, tools, and reporting methods across the organization.
* Drive measurable improvements in schedule performance, cost efficiency, and project predictability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
* Serve as a liaison between Development, Design, Delivery, Finance, Operations, and external construction partners.
* Communicate complex logistics and sequencing concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Provide leadership and influence across multiple teams to support successful project delivery.

About the Role
Healthcare architecture is one of the most technically complex and resilient sectors in the industry. Projects require architects to navigate intricate building systems, regulatory requirements, operational workflows, and stakeholder coordination while creating environments that directly impact patient care and community well-being.
The firm has built a highly respected healthcare practice and is looking for a technically strong architect who wants to deepen their expertise, take ownership of project delivery, and grow within the healthcare sector long term.
Responsibilities
*
Lead technical project delivery from design development through construction administration.
*
Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout all project phases.
*
Develop and oversee construction documentation and technical quality control efforts.
*
Work closely with project managers, clients, consultants, and internal design teams.
*
Participate in project planning, coordination meetings, and client presentations.

Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of project teams.

Proven ability to coordinate consultants and lead complex projects.
*
Revit proficiency.
*
Experience delivering sophisticated project types outside of multifamily and residential work.
*
Interest in building a long-term career within healthcare architecture.
Why This Opportunity?
Many healthcare firms require candidates to already have years of healthcare experience. This firm takes a different approach.
They recognize that some of the strongest healthcare architects come from other complex sectors and have built a culture focused on mentorship, technical excellence, and long-term professional development. The team is willing to invest in talented architects who bring strong project delivery skills and a desire to learn.
For architects who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and working on projects that have a meaningful impact on communities, this represents an opportunity to build expertise within one of the most stable and rewarding sectors in architecture.
This role is ideal for a Senior Architect or Senior Project Architect who has established themselves as a strong technical leader and is looking to apply those skills to larger, more complex projects while developing a highly valuable healthcare specialization.
Historic Preservation Senior Architect / Historic Preservation Lead Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Historic Preservation Senior Architect / Historic Preservation Lead
Hybrid | Baltimore, MD
A nationally recognized architecture and design firm is seeking a senior Historic Preservation professional to join an established and highly respected preservation practice with a clear pathway toward future practice leadership.
For more than four decades, Historic Preservation has been a cornerstone of the firm's work, with projects spanning landmark restorations, adaptive reuse initiatives, preservation planning, campus heritage projects, and historically significant civic, cultural, and institutional buildings. Following the retirement of the longtime leader who built and guided the practice, the firm is seeking the next generation of leadership to help carry that legacy forward.
This is not a replacement in the traditional sense. Rather, the firm is looking for a talented preservation architect who is eager to step into a larger leadership role over time, working closely with senior leadership while gradually assuming greater responsibility for practice growth, client development, and strategic direction.
What You'll Do
*
Lead and deliver complex Historic Preservation and adaptive reuse projects from planning through construction.
*
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, preservation boards, public agencies, universities, and institutional stakeholders.
*
Collaborate with firm leadership on the continued growth and evolution of the Historic Preservation practice.
*
Mentor and develop junior architects and emerging preservation professionals.
*
Support business development efforts, proposal pursuits, and client relationship management.
*
Guide preservation strategies, restoration approaches, and regulatory approvals for historically significant structures.
*
Contribute to long-term practice planning and market positioning.
What We're Looking For
*
10+ years of experience in Historic Preservation, restoration, adaptive reuse, or related architectural practice.
*
Professional degree in Architecture and licensure preferred.
*
Strong understanding of preservation standards, restoration methodologies, and regulatory processes.
*
Experience managing client relationships and leading project teams.
*
Interest in business development and growing a market sector.
*
Passion for preserving historic environments while helping shape their future use and relevance.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Opportunities to inherit and help lead an established Historic Preservation practice are exceptionally rare. Rather than joining a team as another project architect, this role offers the chance to become part of a long-term succession strategy within one of the country's most respected preservation programs.
The firm has spent decades building a reputation in the preservation community and maintains strong relationships with universities, public agencies, cultural institutions, and private clients. The incoming leader will benefit from an existing project portfolio, established client base, and mentorship from firm leadership while gaining exposure to the business and strategic aspects of running a practice.
The organization is 100% employee-owned, creating a culture where employees share directly in the firm's success through profit sharing, ownership opportunities, and long-term wealth creation. For someone passionate about Historic Preservation and interested in expanding their influence beyond project delivery, this represents a unique opportunity to help shape both a practice and a legacy.
