This California-based architecture, planning, interior architecture, and research firm is looking for a Civic Principal to join their practice and lead their Civic studio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a specific market sector or discipline, establishing strategic goals, objectives, and long-term growth plans.
  • Drive studio growth, profitability, and quality of project delivery while maintaining a strong market-focused approach.
  • Serve as Principal-in-Charge on complex projects and key client accounts.
  • Manage and mentor project directors, project managers, architects, designers, and technical staff to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as the primary liaison to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with high client satisfaction.
  • Lead business development efforts, including strategic planning, pursuit strategies, fee proposals, contract negotiations, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgets, staffing utilization, schedules, contracts, change orders, invoices, and consultant agreements.
  • Partner with leadership, including Managing Principals, Principals, marketing teams, and the Chief Strategic Officer, to execute studio and sector growth strategies.
  • Direct recruiting, staffing, and resource planning efforts to maintain team performance, utilization, and overall project health.
  • Participate in industry organizations and external leadership activities to strengthen market presence and support business development efforts.
