VP of Construction - Data Centers Fredericksburg, Virginia, United States
Harper Harrison is retained by a fast-growing global data center developer to find a VP of Construction for their Northern Virginia campus.
The role
This is a hands-on leadership position with genuine scope. You'll own the full construction lifecycle from contractor selection and power delivery through commissioning and turnover to operations. You'll build and manage a high-performing team of internal and augmented staff, set delivery governance, and be the senior construction voice in customer and executive settings.
You'll work cross-functionally with Development, Design, Finance, Sales, Operations, EHS and ESG. Delivery-related financials are yours to own: capital budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, and vendor contracts.
What we're looking for
A builder and a leader. Someone who knows complex, capital-intensive construction inside out and can operate at pace in a growth environment without losing rigour.
Specifically:
* 10+ years delivering large-scale construction projects, with 5+ years in a leadership role
* Demonstrated experience on mission-critical or data center programs, with strong CSA and MEP knowledge
* Commercial sharpness: you can manage a large capital budget and navigate contractual risk
* A genuine safety culture mindset, not a compliance-exercise one
* Confidence presenting to executives and customers, and influencing across functions
Degree in construction management or a related field required.
Why this one
Our client is actively building at scale, with a globally distributed delivery team and a serious pipeline ahead of them. This role carries real authority and real impact. If you want to shape how a major data center program gets delivered, this is worth a conversation.
