Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Planning Manager to lead logistics strategy, sequencing, and planning across a growing portfolio of hyperscale data center campuses.
This newly created role will serve as a key partner to Development, Design, Delivery, Finance, Operations, Customer Success, and external construction partners, ensuring logistics decisions are made proactively during planning and preconstruction rather than reactively during execution.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in construction logistics, complex project sequencing, and cross-functional coordination. This individual will establish repeatable processes, improve schedule performance, and drive continuous improvement across multiple active campuses. This role will be in office 5x a week with occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics Planning
- Provide logistics input during site evaluation and predevelopment activities, including staging areas, laydown space, traffic flow, parking, material delivery strategies, and infrastructure sequencing.
- Ensure site constraints and logistics considerations are incorporated into project planning from the earliest stages.
- Develop logistics frameworks that support scalable campus development and long-term operational success.
Construction Sequencing & Schedule Management
- Maintain visibility across active projects and campuses to ensure sequencing strategies remain aligned with project objectives.
- Partner with project teams to evaluate schedule impacts, identify risks, and implement sequencing adjustments when project conditions change.
- Promote schedule accountability and disciplined planning practices across all stakeholders.
- Support project teams with schedule recovery planning and resequencing strategies when necessary.
Preconstruction & Contractor Engagement
- Establish logistics requirements and sequencing expectations within contractor procurement and bidding processes.
- Lead logistics and sequencing reviews with prospective construction partners during preconstruction.
- Evaluate contractor logistics plans and ensure alignment with project delivery objectives.
- Drive consistency in logistics planning standards across all projects.
Active Construction Support
- Collaborate with contractors and project teams to validate construction sequencing throughout project execution.
- Identify potential conflicts between concurrent construction activities and recommend mitigation strategies before they impact project schedules.
- Provide guidance on material flow, workforce coordination, site utilization, and project phasing.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive construction logistics playbook and best-practices framework.
- Capture lessons learned from completed projects and integrate improvements into future planning efforts.
- Standardize logistics processes, tools, and reporting methods across the organization.
- Drive measurable improvements in schedule performance, cost efficiency, and project predictability.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as a liaison between Development, Design, Delivery, Finance, Operations, and external construction partners.
- Communicate complex logistics and sequencing concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and influence across multiple teams to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Significant experience in construction logistics, project sequencing, construction operations, or complex project delivery environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, mission-critical, manufacturing, or modular construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex project sequencing, site logistics, and schedule coordination across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working on constrained sites with limited laydown space, complex trade coordination, and changing project conditions.
- Demonstrated success influencing contractors, project teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction planning, procurement processes, and contractor management.
- Track record of developing repeatable processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced project environment.
