Unlike traditional procurement leadership positions, this role sits at the intersection of procurement, construction, and project delivery. Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement strategy for major capital equipment including electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Manage procurement activities for long-lead mission critical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Develop project-specific procurement strategies aligned with construction schedules, delivery milestones, and project requirements.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, and strategic suppliers.
  • Evaluate supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect project schedules.
  • Coordinate closely with development, design, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Manage external procurement consultants, owner's representatives, and vendor partners.
  • Track procurement performance, manufacturing schedules, delivery timelines, and equipment readiness across active projects.
  • Support cost forecasting, commercial decision-making, and vendor performance management.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in data center procurement, construction, development, delivery, or mission critical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of major capital equipment procurement and mission critical systems.
  • Experience procuring or managing delivery of switchgear, generators, UPS systems, cooling equipment, or similar infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with project delivery requirements.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain constraints, lead times, and schedule risk management.
  • Experience leading RFP processes, vendor negotiations, and contract discussions.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with significant cross-functional interaction.
  • Data center developer, owner/operator, mission critical contractor, or OEM experience preferred.
