The Opportunity

A growing, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering organization is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join its expanding MEP practice in Texas.

This is an opportunity for an experienced, Texas-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to step into a highly visible position with meaningful ownership over electrical design, project delivery, quality control, and the continued development of the engineering team.

The firm works across education, civic, healthcare, and community-focused facilities, delivering technically complex projects designed to have a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

Rather than operating solely as a production engineer, this individual will have the opportunity to serve as the Electrical Engineer of Record, work directly with architects, clients, and project stakeholders, mentor developing engineers and designers, and partner closely with engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Electrical Engineer of Record on assigned projects from design through construction.

• Lead and oversee the electrical design and documentation of complex building projects.

• Perform final QA/QC reviews of electrical construction documents, ensuring accuracy, coordination, code compliance, and technical quality.

• Develop and edit electrical specifications based on individual project requirements.

• Work collaboratively with architects, owners, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Partner with engineering leadership to develop and implement electrical design, documentation, and modeling standards.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electrical designers, engineers, and project team members.

• Support department leadership with resource planning and coordination across active projects.

• Assist in defining electrical scope, staffing requirements, and technical approach for new project opportunities.

• Participate in and, where appropriate, lead engineering department meetings and technical discussions.

• Help drive consistency, efficiency, and best practices across the electrical engineering practice.

What We're Looking For

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas – required.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

• Approximately 5–7+ years of professional experience designing electrical systems within the MEP, architecture, engineering, or building-design industry.

• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, applicable codes, industry standards, and engineering best practices.

• Proficiency in Revit.

• Experience delivering projects within education, civic/public, and/or healthcare environments is preferred.

• Experience coordinating electrical systems within multidisciplinary building projects.

• Strong understanding of construction documentation and project delivery.

• Ability to communicate effectively with architects, clients, owners, consultants, and internal project teams.

• Comfortable taking ownership of technical decisions while operating within a collaborative environment.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Location

This is a hybrid position and can be based from the firm's Dallas–Fort Worth or Houston-area office.

Candidates must hold an active Texas PE license and be able to obtain additional state licensure as required.
