Role: Project Highway Engineer

Location: NYC or Iselin, NY

I am currently looking for a Highways Engineer with Roads / Drainage design experience for an independently owned engineering consultancy to be based in New York, Florida or Texas.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Highway Project Engineer, we will count on you to:

Lead the roadway/civil for Highway & Bridge. Of varied complexity from concept development through final design.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Mentor and review the work of junior staff.
Coordinate workload throughout entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule and within budget.
Perform Project Engineer duties.
Preferred location is NYC, but also considered to work from our Iselin, NJ office.


Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and PE in NY.
8+ years of design experience in all aspects of Roadway Design including Geometry, Utility, Drainage, Grading and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic design.
A working knowledge of AutoCadd/MicroStation, Inroads and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong project experience with NYSDOT/NYCDOT/NYCDDC and work on design build projects preferred..
Strong technical skills in highway design and the ability to mentor staff and review work to ensure high quality standards.
Ability to perform and lead QA review Teams on Design Build projects
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare memorandums, letters and reports.
