This client is a prominent, privately held New York real estate owner, developer, and investment manager. Its current activity spans recapitalizations, residential conversions, structured and preferred equity, and a growing Opportunity Zone fund business.
The investment team is lean and entrepreneurial. Analysts get real exposure to senior leadership and live transactions from day one.
The Role
The Senior Analyst will support the investment team across the full deal lifecycle, from sourcing and underwriting through closing and asset management. The role covers multiple strategies and property types, so it suits someone who wants breadth, responsibility, and a steep learning curve.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, and structured equity investments
- Underwrite opportunities across asset classes, including residential, office conversions, retail build-to-suits, storage, and energy-adjacent real estate
- Model complex capital structures, including preferred equity, joint venture waterfalls, and credit
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee, partners, and capital providers
- Conduct market research, rent and sales comp analysis, and sensitivity and scenario testing
- Support due diligence and closing processes alongside legal, lenders, and JV partners
- Assist with Opportunity Zone fund activity, including reporting, portfolio analysis, and new vehicle launches
- Track existing assets on lease-up, cost reduction, and recapitalization initiatives
Qualifications
- 1.5+ years of experience in real estate investment, private equity, investment banking, or a related field
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; Argus experience a plus
- Solid grasp of real estate finance, capital structures, and valuation
- Clear written and verbal communication, including investment memo writing
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, real estate, or a related field
- Institutional or boutique backgrounds are equally welcome

Compensation
- Base salary: $135,000 to $150,000
