Managing Principal – National Healthcare Architecture Practice

The firm is seeking a Managing Principal to take a leadership role in driving strategy, growth, and design impact within one of its most active and visible studios. This is an opportunity for a seasoned leader who thrives in a client-facing, business development-oriented position and is motivated by shaping the future of healthcare architecture.
The Role:
As Managing Principal, you will serve as both a thought leader and a seller-doer. You will be responsible for setting strategic direction, cultivating new and existing client relationships, winning work, and ensuring projects are delivered with the highest level of quality and innovation. You will partner closely with national leadership while leading and mentoring teams locally, championing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the strategic vision and market positioning for the healthcare practice.

Drive business development efforts, including pursuits, proposals, and client engagement.

Build and strengthen relationships with healthcare systems, institutions, and industry partners.

Provide oversight on major projects, ensuring design quality, technical rigor, and client satisfaction.

Mentor, inspire, and develop teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and growth.

Partner with firmwide leadership to contribute to national initiatives and overall practice growth.
About You:

20+ years of experience in architecture, with a strong portfolio in healthcare design and delivery.

Proven track record of winning and delivering major healthcare commissions.

Skilled at leading large, complex teams and projects, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Licensed Architect; additional certifications or memberships (AIA, ACHA, LEED, etc.) are a plus.

A natural leader with strong business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to inspire trust and confidence with clients and colleagues.
