Project Architect – Healthcare

Location: Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | AEC - Architecture & Design Sector

This medium-sized Architecture & Design firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking for Project Architects to join their Healthcare team. The ideal candidate is passionate about the technical responsibilities of healthcare buildings while being client-facing and working collaboratively with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the planning and design phases of healthcare projects, transforming design concepts into fully realized architectural solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Project Leader on project management activities, including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and overall coordination.
  • Direct and guide both internal and external design teams from project inception through construction administration, ensuring design excellence and technical accuracy.
  • Inspire and mentor project teams to uphold high standards in client service, design quality, and project delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, experimentation, and creative problem-solving.
  • Align and integrate the project’s design intent with technical and operational requirements throughout all phases.
  • Represent the firm and project team in interactions with healthcare clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong background in healthcare project design and delivery.
  • Professional degree in Architecture required; active architectural registration with at least 5 years of licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on Revit production experience, with demonstrated proficiency in Revit workflows and related automation technologies.
  • Skilled in the evaluation and selection of building materials, systems, and assemblies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a supportive, solution-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrates persistence and creativity in addressing complex design and technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork, technical coordination, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Responsive to client needs, maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach throughout all project phases.
  • Committed to mentorship, able to both coach others and embrace feedback for continual growth.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, managing competing priorities, tight deadlines, and budget constraints while maintaining a positive and focused attitude.
