Status: Confidential Strategic Leadership Opportunity
About the Client (Confidential)
Our client is an award-winning, integrated architecture and construction firm recognized nationally for blending design excellence with technical innovation and execution. With a diverse portfolio across commercial, aviation, healthcare, and mission-critical sectors, they operate at the intersection of creativity, technology, and delivery — all under one collaborative roof.
As part of a broader strategic growth initiative, the firm is expanding its reach in Data Center and Aviation markets, with Dallas serving as the nexus of leadership for both practices.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Data Center Practice Leader — an entrepreneurial and technically astute architect who can blend business development, client leadership, and studio growth into one compelling package.
This is an opportunity to build and shape a practice with the support of an established brand, integrated delivery model, and national design platform. The ideal candidate will be both a visionary and a doer — a leader who can win work, guide clients through complex mission-critical programs, and cultivate a high-performing team capable of scaling sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the Data Center market strategy, developing and executing a business plan aligned with national goals.
-
Drive business development and client relationship management with both existing and new clients — particularly within the hyperscale and colocation sectors.
-
Partner closely with studio and regional leadership to allocate resources, shape project pursuits, and define delivery standards.
-
Oversee project development, ensuring design quality, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
-
Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing team of architects and designers focused on mission-critical work.
-
Build a practice capable of achieving ~$2M in annual revenue and supporting a team of 10–12 professionals within a sustainable growth model.
Ideal Background
-
Licensed Architect or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Data Center or Mission Critical design.
-
Proven success in business development, client acquisition, and market positioning.
-
Experience working with studio leads and regional directors to define strategic direction and resource allocation.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead a practice — whether as a sole leader or number two stepping into leadership.
-
Deep familiarity with hyperscale data centers, power and cooling infrastructure, and secure facility design.
-
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate measurable results, not just activity.

What Success Looks Like

This is not a maintenance role — it’s a build, shape, and lead mandate for someone eager to leave a legacy in the mission-critical design space.
