Key Responsibilities: * Lead the process engineering design for advanced industrial water and wastewater treatment systems.
* Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including membrane processes, zero-liquid discharge (ZLD), resource recovery, advanced oxidation, and smart water systems.
* Translate client requirements and raw water characteristics into scalable process solutions.
* Develop detailed engineering deliverables including process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass balances, equipment specs, and P&IDs.
* Provide technical leadership throughout project phases-from pre-sales assessments and pilot studies to commissioning and optimization.
* Collaborate with R&D, sales engineers, and external partners to evaluate and integrate innovative technologies and vendor solutions.
* Conduct techno-economic evaluations and lifecycle analyses to support client decision-making.
* Prepare and seal engineering reports, proposals, and submittals in compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
* Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to junior engineers and cross-functional team members.
Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial water/wastewater process engineering.
* Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
* Strong working knowledge of industrial treatment technologies, such as:
* Membrane filtration (RO, UF, NF)
* Ion exchange, demineralization, or EDI
* Biological treatment (MBR, aerobic/anaerobic digestion)
* Thermal or evaporative systems
* Experience with water reuse, brine management, or ZLD systems.
* Proficiency in modeling tools and engineering software (e.g., WaterCAD, Aspen, BioWin, or custom tools).
* Ability to manage remote client communication, presentations, and project execution independently.
