Practice Lead - Water / Wastewater

Columbia, SC

We are seeking a highly experienced and licenced Professional Engineer to fill the role of Senior Project Manager / Practise Lead, with a strong background in municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater utilities. In this role, you will lead high-impact projects, while also growing, scaling, and leading our water resources function. You will play a key role in expanding our company's presence and influence in the region.


What you'll do:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects, from scoping and design through to delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, utility authorities, and private clients, to grow our presence in municipal water in South Carolina.
  • Grow and manage your own team, responsible for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development efforts to support growth across South Carolina.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and QA/QC to ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction.

What we're looking for:

  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 10-14 years of experience in consulting engineering.
  • South Carolina PE licence (or ability to obtain SC licence within one year if licenced outside of SC)
  • Proven experience delivering municipal water/wastewater projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience with Civil 3D or hydraulic modelling is a plus.
