Senior Project Architect – Science & Technology

Location: Denver, CO | Full-Time | AEC - Architecture & Design Sector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of the design process with expertise, ensuring alignment with project goals, firm standards, and excellence in design, project management, and execution.
  • Analyze and respond to technical implications, design decisions, and project financial objectives.
  • Direct and contribute to the creation of project documentation, including deliverable drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Oversee Quality Control reviews at each project phase to ensure compliance with design intent, contractual obligations, and firm standards, with a focus on accuracy, legibility, completeness, and constructability.
  • Direct project Quality Assurance efforts, maintaining adherence to firm standards.
  • Coordinate project efforts across internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and external consultants.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding technical project matters and project progress.
  • Oversee regulatory reviews, including building code, accessibility, zoning, and submissions to authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Ensure effective team performance in construction contract administration responsibilities.
  • Stay current on evolving building technologies, engineering systems, and design strategies relevant to Science & Technology projects.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, proposal development, and client interviews.
  • Lead collaborative design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Mentor staff and provide oversight of project assignments, fostering professional development and high team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline required.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • LEED Green Associate (GA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Professional accreditation in one area of Living Design preferred (e.g., LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Consultant/Designer, ILFI Living Future Accreditation).
  • Expertise in building, zoning, energy, and accessibility codes.
  • Experience with site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, specifications, and construction contract administration.
  • Strong skills in project team organization, consultant coordination, and client communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and conceptual/computational modeling tools (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop), and visualization tools (Enscape, Lumion, VRay).
  • Familiarity with physical modeling tools (3D printing, laser cutting) and environmental analysis software (Pollination, Ladybug, Climate Studio).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, mentor staff, and maintain high-quality deliverables under deadlines.
