Senior Medical Planner

Location: Denver, CO | Full-Time | AEC - Architecture & Design Sector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of the healthcare design process with a high level of proficiency, ensuring design goals, project schedules, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
  • Provide expert medical planning and architectural guidance, including master planning and operational design tailored to healthcare facility needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare project teams to interpret client requirements and translate them into design solutions.
  • Partner with clients to define goals and objectives through clear healthcare facility programming.
  • Develop healthcare operational volume projections and apply an understanding of hospital workflows.
  • Manage the development of architectural programs and coordinate project documentation from concept through construction phases.
  • Participate in marketing proposals, client presentations, and interviews when needed.
  • Produce functional room and departmental layouts; assist in systems selection and evaluate existing facilities.
  • Oversee inclusion of program requirements during schematic design and construction document phases.
  • Facilitate data collection and analysis through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and post-occupancy evaluation.
  • Mentor healthcare design team members and support internal coordination with consultants and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in architecture or a closely related discipline.
  • Significant experience in healthcare planning and architectural design (10-15+ years of Healthcare experience), with a strong portfolio of healthcare facilities.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare project delivery, programming, and hospital operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex design processes and multi-phase architectural work.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams, present to clients, and coordinate with consultants.
  • Demonstrated mentorship experience and capability to develop junior team members.
  • Experience in healthcare planning tools, spatial programming, and design documentation.
