Senior Project Architect - Healthcare

Location: Denver, CO | Full-Time | AEC - Architecture & Design Sector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of healthcare design projects, ensuring adherence to firm and project goals while maintaining excellence in design, project management, and execution.
  • Understand and evaluate technical implications, design decisions, and project financial objectives.
  • Oversee the development of project documentation, including deliverable drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Conduct Quality Control reviews at each project phase to ensure compliance with design intent, contractual obligations, and firm standards.
  • Direct project Quality Assurance efforts, ensuring projects meeting the companies’ standards of quality, accuracy, legibility, and constructability.
  • Coordinate internal disciplines (architecture, interior design, landscape architecture) and manage relationships with external consultants.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding technical project matters.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, including building codes, accessibility, zoning, and submissions to authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Ensure efficient performance of construction contract administration responsibilities by project teams.
  • Stay current with evolving building technologies and engineering systems relevant to healthcare projects.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, including proposal development, presentations, and client interviews.
  • Lead collaborative design sessions, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to staff, offering oversight of project assignments.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills that inspire high team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • LEED Green Associate (GA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Professional accreditation in a Living Design area (e.g., LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Consultant/Designer, ILFI Living Future Accreditation).
  • Expertise in building, zoning, energy, and accessibility codes.
  • Proficiency in site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documentation, specifications, and construction contract administration.
  • Experience organizing and managing project teams and coordinating with consultants.
  • Strong client communication and project leadership skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and conceptual/computational modeling tools (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop), and visualization tools (Enscape, Lumion, VRay).
  • Experience with physical modeling tools (3D printing, laser cutting) and environmental analysis software (Pollination, Ladybug, Climate Studio).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, mentor staff, and maintain high-quality deliverables under deadlines.
