Managing Director

Our client is a well-established healthcare architecture and planning firm with a 30+ year track record designing high-quality, accessible healthcare environments across the U.S. and internationally. The firm serves a broad mix of critical access hospitals, regional medical centers, healthcare systems, and independent clinics, with a strong focus on community-based care. Services include architectural design, planning, interior design, and medical equipment coordination.
The organization operates multiple offices across the Midwest and South and is known for its collaborative culture, technical rigor, and long-standing client relationships.
The Managing Director will provide senior leadership and day-to-day oversight for the firm’s Rogers, Arkansas office. This role is responsible for operational excellence, staff leadership, client relationship management, financial performance, and strategic growth. The Managing Director will work closely with executive leadership to align local office strategy with firmwide objectives while fostering a strong, people-centered culture.
This is a highly visible leadership position with significant influence over office performance, market presence, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Lead all operational aspects of the office, ensuring efficient workflows and consistent project delivery

Oversee staffing strategy, including recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development

Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing office culture

Ensure office operations align with firm standards, values, and long-term vision
Strategic Growth & Business Development

Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for market growth

Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and new opportunities

Represent the firm within the local market through industry involvement, professional organizations, and community engagement
Financial & Budget Management

Prepare and manage the office budget in collaboration with senior leadership

Monitor project financial performance and profitability

Report on operational and financial metrics to executive leadership
Project & Quality Oversight

Provide senior oversight of project planning, execution, and delivery

Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations

Champion firmwide standards, processes, documentation practices, and quality controls
Team Leadership & Development

Mentor staff and emerging leaders within the office

Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Encourage knowledge sharing and professional growth at all levels
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum 15 years of experience in architecture or a related discipline

At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership or office management role

Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and drive office performance

Strong client relationship management and business development experience

Demonstrated financial acumen and project oversight capabilities

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Licensed Architect preferred
