An established architecture, planning, and design firm is seeking a driven and relationship-oriented professional to lead business development and strategic growth within the Higher Education market to serve as their new Higher Education Program Strategist. This is a unique opportunity for someone ready to evolve into a market-facing leadership role while staying rooted in purpose-driven work and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a door-opener for the firm's Higher Education practice by cultivating new relationships, identifying opportunities, and sparking conversations with decision-makers.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and campus meetings with the purpose of becoming a visible presence in the Higher Education community.
  • Work closely with firm leaders to shape early-stage pursuits and develop strategic positioning across target institutions.
  • Bring energy and vision to a practice that is growing nationally, with support from a collaborative and mission-aligned team.
  • Engage in master planning and academic programming conversations.
  • Contribute to strategic wins that grow the practice, success will be measured by pipeline momentum and project conversions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 7+ years of experience in architecture, planning, or design, with a passion for front-end strategy and business development.
  • A natural connector with a sharp understanding of the Higher Education ecosystem - either through direct experience or the drive to quickly build a relevant network.
  • Confident speaking publicly and independently representing the firm's values and vision in early client interactions.
  • Ideally coming from a design/consulting background (vs. institutional/owner side), with experience at firms known for strong campus portfolios.
  • Bonus points for experience in programming or campus master planning but not required.
