Harper Harrison is working in partnership with a leading, employee-owned global consultancy that specialises in the delivery of complex, high-impact infrastructure projects. Our client has a strong reputation across the water, energy, transport, and environmental sectors and is known for their commitment to sustainability, technical excellence, and community impact.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join the power systems team. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about infrastructure and want to lead electrical design on projects that support public health, environmental resilience, and long-term energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, facility power infrastructure, and renewable energy systems.

  • Perform power systems analysis, lighting and communication system simulations, and related electrical calculations.

  • Review project sites and adapt designs to specific environmental or facility requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop proposals and project solutions.

  • Produce technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge resources.

  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior engineers.

  • Engage in technical conferences and contribute to industry publications.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related discipline.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in electrical systems or power engineering.

  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and related industry standards.

  • Proficiency with electrical analysis software (ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or similar).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

Preferred:

  • Experience in water, wastewater, transportation, or federal infrastructure projects.

  • Background in technical proposal development and client-facing roles.

  • Knowledge of sustainable or renewable energy systems.
