Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect – Healthcare to join their growing healthcare practice in Southern or Northern California. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with HCAI 1/OSHPD 1 projects and a strong background in the design, documentation, and delivery of large-scale healthcare facilities. This individual will lead architectural efforts on complex projects, working closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure design excellence and technical precision from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and coordination of healthcare projects from schematic design through construction administration.

  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to establish goals, evaluate options, and develop innovative architectural solutions.

  • Translate design concepts into detailed construction systems and technical documentation while preserving design integrity.

  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality, regulatory, and firm standards.

  • Oversee and mentor team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Coordinate consultant input and manage multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve seamless integration across project phases.

  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and client presentations, as needed.

  • Maintain project documentation, records, and communication in alignment with professional and industry best practises.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong record in healthcare project delivery.

  • Demonstrated HCAI 1/OSHPD 1 experience in California (required).

  • Active U.S. architectural licence.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.

  • Proficiency in Revit and other relevant design tools.

  • LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainability credential preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and uphold high professional standards.

  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to travel as project needs require.

Compensation

  • Anticipated salary range: $130,000 – $145,000 annually.

  • Final compensation will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
