A respected Mid-Atlantic general contractor is seeking a Superintendent to lead K-12 and institutional construction projects from the ground up. With a growing presence across Virginia and Maryland, this firm takes pride in quality delivery, team sustainability, and long-standing client relationships.
This role is based out of the Winchester office and will oversee field operations for upcoming school builds and campus-style facilities. The ideal candidate brings strong scheduling and subcontractor coordination skills and understands the unique demands of educational construction.
Responsibilities:
Lead all on-site construction activities including subcontractor coordination, safety, and quality control
Build and manage construction schedules with input from PM and subcontractors
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and site-specific compliance (e.g., student occupancy protocols)
Manage daily reports, site logistics, material deliveries, and inspections
Serve as the primary field representative to clients, architects, and inspectors
Collaborate with field engineers, APMs, and project managers to maintain cost and schedule goals
Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and clear communication on site
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience as a Superintendent, with at least 3 in K-12 or institutional construction
Strong familiarity with Virginia and Maryland building codes and school-specific protocols
Ability to lead subcontractors and field teams in a fast-paced environment
OSHA 30 certified preferred
Strong documentation and schedule management skills (MS Project or similar)

Compensation & Benefits:
$110,000-$130,000 base salary + annual bonus
