Interior Designer III

Location: Coral Gables, FL | Full-Time | Architecture & Design Sector

A nationally recognized design firm is seeking an Interior Designer III to join its growing South Florida studio. This role is ideal for a well-rounded and technically proficient designer with at least 5 years of experience, strong Revit skills, and a passion for design excellence across all project phases-from programming to construction documentation.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and creative interior designer ready to take on more project leadership, technical complexity, and design responsibility-while contributing to meaningful, human-centered environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or contribute to all phases of design from programming to construction documents
  • Collaborate with architects and fellow designers to integrate interior design concepts with broader architectural goals
  • Develop detailed construction documents, redline revisions, and technical drawings
  • Conduct space planning analysis, area calculations, and programming activities
  • Create and coordinate presentation materials to convey design vision
  • Work independently or with teams to ensure design execution within budget and schedule
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors to address project requirements
  • Mentor junior designers and support a collaborative studio culture
  • Use Revit and related software to generate high-quality, coordinated design deliverables
  • Ensure all design work meets firm and project standards for technical accuracy and design intent

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline (required)
  • 5+ years of experience working across all design phases
  • Proficient in Revit, BIM, and advanced visualization tools (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, VRay)
  • Working knowledge of ADA, FGI, and other building codes and life safety standards
  • Familiar with construction contract administration processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, lighting, and acoustic systems
  • Skilled in specification writing, product selection, and interior detailing
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills
  • Preparing for NCIDQ certification
  • LEED Green Associate within 6 months of hire (required)
  • Accreditation in one sustainability or performance-based certification encouraged (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House, Living Future Accreditation, etc.)
