Senior Project Architect - Core & Shell
Location: Houston, TX | Full-Time | Architecture & Design Sector
A leading architecture firm is seeking a Senior Project Architect to provide technical leadership and documentation coordination on large, complex projects, with a focus on multi-story research and clinical healthcare buildings. This role requires strong expertise in technical design, project delivery, and team leadership, while promoting design excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical development of projects from schematic design through construction.
- Direct the production of design drawings, construction documents, and specifications.
- Review shop drawings, material samples, and CDs for compliance with design intent.
- Oversee construction administration activities, including RFIs, RFPs, and change orders.
- Coordinate and integrate engineering systems with architectural design.
- Conduct field observations to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Ensure compliance with codes, accessibility standards, zoning, and life-safety requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers to establish project budgets, schedules, and work plans.
- Manage scope, schedule, and cost compliance across all phases of project delivery.
- Maintain strong client, consultant, and contractor relationships.
- Contribute to marketing efforts, including client presentations and project pursuits.

Qualifications:
- 10+ years of architectural experience.
- Advanced expertise in design, construction documentation, and building systems.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, specifications, and engineering systems.
- Experience with project management processes and software.
- Proficiency with Revit (basic knowledge required).
- Licensed Architect (required).
- LEED AP accreditation, or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and lead teams effectively.
