Due to a new facility greenfield project in Montreal, Quebec, Canada the client is looking to hire a Director, Facilities & Operations who will play a pivotal role in driving the growth, profitability, and operational excellence of a CDMO through strategic planning, effective project management, strong partner relationships, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Execution: Developing strategic implementation plans aligned with the company's goals and objectives. This involves assessing company’s capabilities and SWOT to structure the execution plan for successful implementation.
2. Partner Relations: Has a partner facing Role. Leading efforts in identifying/managing expectations and implementing fail/safe steps through out the projects, ensuring communication of steps and deliverables. Pursuing new business opportunities with potential clients. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships with partners to ensure satisfaction and continuous business.
3. Project Management: Overseeing the execution of partner M&A projects from inception through to completion. This involves coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. This also applies to the implementation of new technologies (when linked to strategic initiatives)
4. Financial Management: Managing budgets and financial performance related to operations, projects, and strategic initiatives. This includes cost analysis, pricing strategies, and financial forecasting to support decision-making and profitability.
5. Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA) and maintaining high standards of quality throughout all operations and projects. This involves implementing and monitoring quality systems and processes.
6. Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvement within the organization. This may include implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, and reducing costs while maintaining or improving quality.

Experience required:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

* Project/construction management experience desired
* Experience with human resource and performance management processes
* Must have previous demonstrated experience overseeing the operations of a large and complex facility department including an in-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and facility-related regulations.
