We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design of electrical power systems for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects alongside a dynamic team that values technical excellence, professional growth, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power distribution systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities with minimal supervision from senior engineering staff

  • Perform technical tasks including load calculations, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor studies

  • Develop conduit routing plans, motor control center layouts, and switchgear designs

  • Prepare detailed engineering specifications, reports, and construction documents

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, structural, and instrumentation engineers

  • Participate in field investigations, equipment start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning

  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and industry standards

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients, vendors, permitting agencies, and project teams

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 6–12 years of experience in electrical engineering (preferably industrial or municipal infrastructure)

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Proficiency with power system analysis and electrical design software

  • Field investigation and start-up/commissioning experience

  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and familiarity with IEEE color book series

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with clients

  • Self-starter with a positive, team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience designing electrical systems for water or wastewater treatment facilities
