About the Firm

Our client is a nationally recognized architecture and design firm devoted exclusively to healthcare. They partner with leading health systems and care providers to create spaces that promote healing, enhance performance, and elevate the human experience. From major hospital expansions to behavioral health and outpatient care environments, their portfolio reflects a deep understanding of the complex, evolving world of healthcare delivery.

The firm’s success comes from its people — collaborative, curious, and driven by purpose. Their culture values openness, mentorship, and continuous learning, offering the perfect environment for architects who want to make an impact that goes beyond buildings.

Why This Role Matters

This Project Architect position represents a key leadership opportunity within the firm’s growing Western and Southwestern teams. You’ll play a critical role in delivering technically excellent healthcare projects, ensuring design intent translates seamlessly into high-quality built environments.

As a Project Architect, you’ll collaborate closely with design leadership, planners, and consultants to bring complex, meaningful healthcare projects to life — from concept through construction documentation and delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead design and documentation phases (SD/DD/CD) for healthcare projects including hospital expansions, ambulatory care, and behavioral health facilities.

    • Collaborate with design teams and planners through SD/DD phases.

    • Take full ownership and leadership during CD phases, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity.

  • Manage consultant coordination (MEP, structural, medical equipment planning) and ensure all documentation aligns with healthcare codes, FGI Guidelines, NFPA, ADA, and related regulations.

  • Provide hands-on oversight of Revit/BIM modeling — maintaining model integrity, documentation quality, and detailed coordination of complex healthcare systems.

  • Serve as a client-facing leader, engaging hospital owners, staff, and regulatory authorities.

    • Lead project and coordination meetings, or mentor and empower junior staff to do so, depending on project scale.

  • Mentor junior designers and technical staff, supporting professional development and promoting a culture of excellence.

  • Contribute to the firm’s continued innovation in healthcare planning, technical execution, and delivery models.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

  • 7–12+ years of professional experience, ideally within healthcare or institutional design

  • Strong technical and production background, particularly in healthcare documentation

  • Architectural licensure preferred (or a clear path toward it)

  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows; ability to oversee large, complex documentation efforts

  • Demonstrated experience leading consultant coordination and managing multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong communication, organization, and mentorship skills

What You’ll Get

  • Opportunity to work with a purpose-driven firm that’s shaping the future of healthcare environments

  • Exposure to complex, impactful projects across the Western and Southwestern U.S.

  • Collaborative, people-first culture that supports growth and long-term career development

  • Competitive compensation, flexible work structure, and comprehensive benefits
