Construction Administrator - Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid Schedule)

About the Role

An established, employee-owned architecture and design firm is seeking a Construction Administrator to support the bidding and construction phases of medium- to large-scale healthcare projects. This role focuses on ensuring quality, coordination, and compliance throughout construction while collaborating with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.

This position is based in Los Angeles with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office / 2 remote).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support bidding and construction administration from contract award through project closeout
  • Respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change documentation
  • Prepare meeting minutes, field reports, change orders, and project correspondence
  • Conduct field observations and document construction progress and issues
  • Review documents for quality, coordination, and constructability
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, agencies, and utility providers
  • Review cost estimates, pay applications, and change order requests
  • Monitor construction progress for compliance with contract documents and design intent
  • Support project closeout activities including punch lists and as-built documentation
  • Assist with mentoring junior staff and improving internal CA procedures

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience in architecture or construction administration
  • Licensed Architect preferred (California license is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of construction administration processes and documentation
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility, life safety, and egress requirements
  • Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, and construction change documentation
  • Familiarity with CPM scheduling and construction coordination
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
