Director of Construction & Development

A growing data center developer is seeking a Director of Construction & Development to support a rapidly expanding project pipeline across the United States.

 

This individual will take ownership of multiple active projects ranging from 20MW–50MW and will be responsible for driving execution from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover. The role sits at the center of project delivery, coordinating consultants, contractors, utilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards.

 

Current projects include ground-up developments and expansion projects in major U.S. markets, with additional opportunities progressing through acquisition and development.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple data center construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through closeout
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and contractor performance
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, utilities, consultants, and local authorities
  • Conduct regular site visits and oversee project execution, safety, quality, and commissioning activities
  • Review contracts, change orders, invoices, and project reporting
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives
  • Support development and due diligence efforts, including utility coordination and site evaluation
  • Present project updates, recommendations, and key decisions to senior leadership

 

Requirements

  • Experience delivering data center, mission-critical, hyperscale, or colocation projects
  • Strong construction management background with experience overseeing large-scale capital projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong commercial, scheduling, and project controls experience
  • Ability to operate independently while managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Greenfield development experience is beneficial but not required.
