Senior Medical Planner

Location: Open to any U.S. office (Boston, Columbus, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C.)

An innovative and nationally respected design firm is looking for a Senior Medical Planner to help lead complex healthcare projects across the country.

This team works with major health systems and academic institutions to deliver high-performance healing environments. In this role, you'll lead planning strategies, guide client relationships, and coordinate with internal teams across multiple regions-shaping the future of care delivery in the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead medical planning for large-scale and complex healthcare projects (inpatient, ambulatory, academic)

  • Direct user group sessions and synthesize clinical needs into high-functioning spatial programs

  • Oversee the work of junior planners and architects; support quality control and documentation

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering clinical insight and strategic design direction

Qualifications:

  • 8-12+ years of experience in medical planning and/or healthcare architecture

  • Proven ability to lead programming and early-phase planning for a variety of healthcare typologies

  • Experience with client-facing roles, including clinicians and executive stakeholders

  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
