Healthcare Architect

Location: Charlotte, NC | Full-Time | AEC - Architecture & Design Sector

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist in leading the planning and design of healthcare projects, including Master-Planning, Advisory Services, Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, Medical Office Buildings and Pediatric Environments.
  • Translate complex healthcare design concepts into well-coordinated architectural solutions from early planning through construction documentation.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to support project management efforts, including scheduling, staffing coordination, and budget awareness.
  • Direct and coordinate internal and external project teams through all phases of design and construction administration.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to align design intent with technical and operational requirements.
  • Lead and inspire project teams through a collaborative, innovative, and solutions-oriented design approach.
  • Coordinate design of building systems, construction methods, and technical requirements specific to healthcare environments.
  • Represent the project team in client meetings, presentations, and coordination efforts with industry partners and public authorities.
  • Contribute to an open, flexible, and collaborative team culture by building trust and encouraging creativity and innovation.
  • Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering professional growth and technical development.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Active architectural licensure.
  • 7+ years of professional experience as an Architectural Designer or Project Architect, with a strong focus on healthcare projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare building typologies, including Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, and specialized medical environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, including extensive production experience and familiarity with automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of building materials, systems selection, construction techniques, and sustainable design strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and graphic presentation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex design and technical challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines and budget constraints while maintaining a positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others and remain open to coaching and feedback.
