Our client who is a prominent national architecture and design firm is seeking an experienced Office Director to lead its Los Angeles studio. This pivotal leadership role combines business acumen, creative direction, and people-centered management to ensure the office thrives strategically, operationally, and culturally.

We're looking for a proven leader who can inspire teams, cultivate client relationships, and translate firm-wide vision into local success.The Office Director will play a critical role in driving performance, supporting market growth, and championing excellence in design and delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of office operations, including financial performance, staffing, and strategic planning.

  • Identify and pursue local business development opportunities that align with firm-wide growth objectives.

  • Partner with market and regional leaders to expand visibility and strengthen the firm’s reputation.

  • Build and nurture high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.

  • Represent the firm within the regional business and design communities, building relationships with key partners.

  • Promote design excellence, innovation, and sustainability across all projects.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between office staff and firm leadership to ensure alignment and communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.

  • Active professional license strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the AEC industry.

  • Proven leadership in office or studio management, including financial oversight and business development.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to inspire teams and lead change.

Compensation: $140,000–$200,000+ annually, depending on experience.
