Our client is a globally recognized, employee-owned engineering and design consultancy. We are partnering with them to identify a Healthcare Principal to join their senior leadership team in Texas. This is a high-impact, executive-level opportunity for a proven mechanical engineering leader with deep healthcare expertise and a demonstrated track record of client development, practice growth, and delivery excellence.
The successful candidate will serve as a market-facing leader and trusted advisor to healthcare clients, working closely with regional and state leadership to drive strategy, expand market share, and shape the long-term direction of the healthcare practice.

Executive Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the healthcare mechanical engineering practice, aligning project delivery, client engagement, and growth initiatives with broader regional and firmwide objectives.

Serve as a senior client executive, developing and sustaining C-suite relationships with healthcare systems, academic medical centers, and major institutional clients.

Lead the pursuit and delivery of complex, large-scale healthcare programs, from early concept and master planning through construction administration and commissioning.

Own financial performance for assigned portfolios, including revenue growth, profitability, staffing strategy, and risk management.

Act as Lead Engineer and/or Engineer of Record on select flagship projects, setting the technical standard for the practice.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary leadership across engineering, planning, and design to deliver integrated, innovative solutions.

Recruit, mentor, and develop senior and emerging leaders, building a resilient succession pipeline for the healthcare practice.

Represent the firm externally through industry leadership, thought leadership, and professional engagement.
Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on healthcare and hospital environments.

Demonstrated leadership on major hospital and healthcare programs, from concept design through construction and system commissioning.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.

Proven success leading teams and portfolios as a Principal, Project Director, or Practice Leader.

Strong business acumen with experience driving growth, managing profitability, and mitigating risk.

Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Texas PE license required.
