Solutions Architect
An organization focused on advanced power and energy infrastructure is seeking a Solutions Architect to design innovative technical solutions that address complex operational and energy challenges. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy and customer engagement, translating technical requirements into practical, scalable system designs.
Working closely with sales, engineering and product teams, the Solutions Architect will develop integrated solutions across distributed energy systems, power infrastructure
and critical power applications. The role combines strong technical design capabilities with commercial awareness to ensure solutions are both technically sound and financially viable.
The Solutions Architect is responsible for developing system-level designs that address customer requirements while supporting business growth. This includes technical discovery with clients, system modeling, proposal development and coordination across internal teams to deliver high-quality, competitive solutions.
You will play a key role in shaping customer proposals, validating system performance through analysis and ensuring proposed solutions can be delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Engineering
• Design integrated power and energy systems that meet technical and financial requirements
• Perform modeling and engineering analysis to validate system performance
• Develop project scope definitions, equipment specifications and supporting technical documentation
• Conduct value engineering to optimize system cost, performance and reliability
• Ensure solutions comply with relevant engineering standards and customer specifications
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales Support
• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer needs, operational constraints and project objectives
• Conduct site visits and technical assessments to inform system design
• Present technical solutions to stakeholders including engineering teams, facility leadership and executive decision-makers
• Address technical questions and provide support throughout the sales process
• Translate complex engineering concepts into clear business value for non-technical audiences
Proposal Development & Commercial Support
• Develop detailed technical proposals supporting competitive opportunities
• Collaborate with sales teams to define solution strategies and positioning
• Define project budgets, schedules and resource requirements
• Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Support contract discussions by providing technical clarification and documentation
• Ensure proposals meet internal quality standards and align with project delivery capabilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with engineering teams to apply new technologies and products to customer applications
• Partner with finance teams to develop cost models and financial projections
• Coordinate with project management and operations teams to ensure solution feasibility and delivery alignment
• Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer requirements and market trends
• Support knowledge sharing and best practice development across technical teams
• Assist with transition from proposal stage to project execution
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies and evolving energy solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve internal design tools, processes and templates
• Contribute to development of standard system architectures and design frameworks
• Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future solutions
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in technical design, applications engineering or pre-sales engineering within energy systems, industrial infrastructure or other complex technical environments
• Strong technical foundation with ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar design platforms
• Experience preparing technical proposals and customer-facing documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
• Strong analytical thinking and system-level problem solving skills
• Understanding of project economics and business drivers
• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% for customer meetings and site assessments
Preferred Experience
• Experience with distributed power generation, energy storage or critical power systems
• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical or related discipline
• Experience with financial modeling and project budgeting
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes
• Experience supporting complex technical sales opportunities
