An experienced engineering professional is required on a contract basis to lead the execution of capital projects from early concept through commissioning and final handover. This role will take full ownership of scope, schedule, budget control and on-site execution across multi-discipline project teams.
You will manage capital investments valued at approximately $2 million, developing detailed project definitions, securing internal funding approvals and coordinating design activities across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines. The position requires hands-on oversight of contractors, bid evaluation, contract administration and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
• Defining and controlling project scope, cost and timeline
• Leading cross-functional technical teams
• Managing capital authorisation documentation and budget tracking
• Overseeing contractor safety and site compliance
• Maintaining KPI dashboards and portfolio reporting data
• Managing schedules within Microsoft Project
• Processing requisitions and contractor invoices
• Ensuring commissioning, qualification and final turnover documentation is complete
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related engineering discipline or similar
• 4 to 7 years of relevant capital project experience
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred
• PMP, EIT or PE certification preferred or willingness to pursue
• Experience delivering capital construction or equipment installation projects
• Strong contractor management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Experience working within operational facilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and AutoCAD or equivalent
• Understanding of financial tracking and capital budget controls
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Desirable experience:
• Exposure to regulated environments such as cGMP
• Experience applying Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
• Familiarity with current industry regulatory standards
