Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Principal-in-Charge for Civic, Justice, and Public Safety projects including Police, Fire, EMS/Dispatch, Justice, and Municipal facilities
- Lead multiple projects through all phases, including planning, design, documentation, and construction administration
- Manage client relationships and ensure project success across quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction
- Prepare and negotiate proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements
- Oversee internal teams, staffing, schedules, and project execution
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff
- Support business development efforts, including RFQs/RFPs, networking, and client engagement
- Contribute to long-term strategic growth and thought leadership within the civic practice
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch required)
- Licensed Architect required
- 10+ years of experience leading Civic, Public Safety, Justice, or Municipal projects
- Demonstrated success delivering projects in the $5M–$50M+ range, preferably in New England
- Strong client leadership, project management, and team leadership skills
- Experience with public procurement processes and municipal clients preferred
- Commitment to design excellence, collaboration, and community-focused work
- Ability to travel periodically to project and office locations
