Regional Senior Interior Designer – Healthcare (Northeast)

New York, NY (Philadelphia or Boston) 

A nationally recognized healthcare design practice is seeking a Regional Senior Interior Designer to lead and elevate its interiors team across the Northeast. This is a senior leadership role with immediate impact, offering the opportunity to guide an established team, influence client relationships, and shape the future of a growing interiors practice.

The Opportunity
This role sits at the intersection of design leadership, team development, and client engagement. You will take ownership of the interiors practice across multiple offices, providing direction, mentorship, and oversight while partnering closely with firm leadership and project teams.

The team is already well-established with a strong pipeline of healthcare work and long-standing client relationships. The focus of this hire is to bring senior-level leadership, strengthen team structure, and elevate both design delivery and client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the interiors team across the Northeast region, supporting designers across multiple offices
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development to a team of interior designers at varying experience levels
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, planning, and leadership teams on integrated healthcare projects
  • Oversee design quality, project delivery, and team performance across multiple active projects
  • Help identify team strengths and support ongoing growth and development initiatives

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in healthcare interiors, with a strong understanding of complex hospital and clinical environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and mentoring designers
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage expectations and navigate complex conversations
  • NCIDQ certification and/or registered Interior Designer preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit and a strong understanding of project delivery and documentation
