A leading employee-owned engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its growing Water & Infrastructure team. This is a pivotal technical role focused on the design and delivery of complex electrical power systems for major water and wastewater treatment projects, including design-build initiatives across the region.
You'll be instrumental in shaping high-performance electrical systems, conducting advanced power system analyses, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of low and medium-voltage electrical power systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform load calculations, conduit and cable routing, and design of motor control centers, switchgear, and backup power systems.
- Conduct power system studies, lighting layouts, and electrical safety analyses using tools such as SKM and ETAP.
- Provide construction-phase support, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and occasional site inspections.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management (TKM) through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil and mechanical engineers, and clients to develop proposals and ensure compliance with firm, industry, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within water, wastewater, industrial, or transit sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UFC, and NESC codes.
- Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, and other power system analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and team collaboration skills.
