The Role
As a Service Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting 24/7 facility operations across multiple client sites. This includes the maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of complex control systems, as well as contributing to the delivery of automation projects through system configuration, design support, and onsite commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Service and Support
Perform inspections, maintenance, and updates on control systems
Respond to issues across service channels including phone, email, chat, and ticketing systems
Track and analyze system performance and KPIs to identify areas for improvement
Troubleshoot incidents and outages, escalate critical issues, and support rapid resolution
Manage shift rotations and ensure effective 24/7 coverage
Instrumentation and Electrical Design
Create and maintain instrument lists based on P&ID drawings
Assist with submittal packages and procurement documentation
Support panel fabrication teams and conduct quality inspections
System Design and Configuration
Participate in design reviews and configure development systems
Build user interfaces, HMI screens, and implement control logic
Document system architecture and support client acceptance testing
Onsite Startup and Commissioning
Assist with software installation, calibration, and loop checks
Participate in full system functional testing and troubleshooting
Support training and handover documentation for client operations teams
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in control systems service or support
Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical technology, or equivalent experience
Strong background in at least one of the following: Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Rockwell Automation
Familiarity with HVAC systems, P&IDs, and control instrumentation preferred
Comfortable with occasional travel and working in an on-call rotation
