Senior Project Architect - Healthcare

Location: Atlanta, GA | Full-Time | Architecture & Design Sector

A nationally respected architecture firm with a strong portfolio in healthcare design is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join its Atlanta team. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced architect with deep technical expertise and a passion for delivering impactful healthcare environments. The position involves oversight of technical documentation, mentoring junior staff, client engagement, and coordination across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership throughout all phases of design and documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with design goals.
  • Lead the development of schematic design, design development, and construction documentation in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate and manage construction administration tasks, including reviewing RFIs, RFPs, change orders, and field reports.
  • Conduct and review analyses for zoning, accessibility, life safety, and other applicable regulations.
  • Help establish and manage project work plans, including budget, schedules, and staffing in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors to support smooth project delivery.
  • Participate in business development activities such as client presentations and proposal preparation.
  • Mentor and supervise junior architectural staff, ensuring quality and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience, including significant experience in healthcare architecture.
  • Architectural licensure required.
  • LEED AP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficient in Revit; additional experience with other design and documentation tools is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, specifications, systems, and construction methodologies.
  • Experienced in all project phases, with an emphasis on technical documentation and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative, professional, and solution-oriented approach.
