About the Client (Confidential)
Our client is a nationally recognized architecture and design firm celebrated for its deep expertise in Science & Technology, higher education, and corporate innovation environments. With decades of design leadership behind them, this firm has consistently delivered research-driven, human-centered facilities that foster discovery, collaboration, and transformation.
As part of an exciting new strategic focus, they are expanding their Life Sciences and Corporate Innovation practice across the Southeastern United States — with Florida serving as the hub for leadership and growth.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Corporate Life Sciences Practice Leader — an entrepreneurial design professional with the relationships, expertise, and vision to shape the next chapter of the firm’s S&T practice in the Southeast.
This is a role for a market-maker: someone equally comfortable engaging with developers, research institutions, and life sciences organizations as they are guiding complex design programs from concept to completion.
You’ll have the backing of an established national practice, a legacy of design excellence in science and innovation, and the autonomy to build a regional practice that reflects your own strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the growth and strategic direction of the Life Sciences and Corporate Innovation practice in the Southeastern U.S.
-
Develop and sustain relationships with key developers, corporate clients, and research partners in emerging science and innovation markets.
-
Serve as both seller and doer — driving business development while remaining hands-on in shaping project vision and delivery.
-
Collaborate with firmwide Science & Technology leadership to align goals, share resources, and expand brand presence.
-
Lead pursuits, proposals, and design narratives that reinforce the firm’s reputation for innovation and technical excellence.
-
Mentor and grow a regional team of architects and planners, cultivating a strong culture of creativity, rigor, and client partnership.
Ideal Background
-
Licensed Architect or equivalent professional background with 10–15+ years of experience in Life Sciences, Corporate R&D, or S&T environments.
-
Deep understanding of developer-led science campuses, wet/dry lab design, and innovation hubs.
-
Strong client network in the Southeast U.S. — particularly among real estate developers, life sciences organizations, and institutional partners.
-
Proven ability to generate new business, lead multidisciplinary design teams, and manage complex client relationships.
-
Strategic mindset with a balance of creative leadership and commercial acumen.
The Culture
This firm believes that great design advances discovery — that architecture is not simply a service, but a catalyst for progress. Their teams combine deep technical expertise with curiosity and empathy, shaping environments where research, learning, and innovation thrive.
You’ll be joining a culture that values ideas, integrity, and impact — where design leadership and business growth are equally celebrated.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first year, the Corporate Life Sciences Practice Leader will have established new developer and client relationships, secured key pursuits, and positioned the firm as a go-to partner for innovation environments across the Southeast.
This is an opportunity to build, influence, and lead — with the creative freedom to shape a market and the backing of one of the nation’s most respected design practices in science and technology.
