This June, the digital infrastructure world turns its attention to Cannes as Datacloud Global Congress returns for its 20th anniversary. Known as one of the industry’s most influential gatherings, the event brings together global leaders across cloud, AI, data centres, and investment for three days of collaboration, innovation, and insight.
Among those heading to the city are Jason Moore, Head of UK & Europe – Digital Infrastructure, and Charlie Sykes, Lead Consultant, who will be on the ground building connections, exploring market trends, and taking part in the conversations shaping the future of the sector.
From a packed few days of networking to spontaneous catch-ups by the coast, Jason Moore shares what he’s looking forward to at Datacloud and how he’s preparing for the days ahead:
What are you most excited about for the DataCloud Global Congress 2025?
DataCloud is the ideal opportunity to meet our partners and discuss H1, plans for H2 and get valuable face time with them on the beautiful south coast of France! Crucially, though, DataCloud also allows us to attend some fantastic events to learn more about the key trends across Digital Infrastructure and how we can continue adapting to benefit our clients.
How will you balance work and social activities at the DataCloud Global Congress?
The two go in hand-in-hand as working is being social when out at DataCloud. Every event you attend is an opportunity to meet new people and grow your network, it’s worth striking up conversation with those there as you never how you may be able to help eachother out.
What exciting activities or attractions are you most looking forward to outside of the conference at DataCloud Global Congress?
Cannes is a fantastic location and this is the second year of DataCoud being held there. Outside of the work, I’m most excited to be able to wake up and take a stroll along Boulevard la Croisette, have some fantastic pastries for breakfast and even squeeze in a swim.
How do you plan to build meaningful connections at DataCloud Global Congress?
The key to meaningful connections is being open minded about how building your network can be done. Not every meeting has to lead to an immediate partnership that can be quantified by fees for either party. I believe DataCloud is ideal for us to build our knowledge of the industry, better understand the key trends and ensure our existing partners can benefit from the knowledge we gain. I’m always happy to take introductory meetings and share our capabilities with new contacts as you never know where that may lead, whether it’s doing business together or making introductions.
What’s your go-to snack for powering through a busy conference day - coffee, doughnuts, or something else?
It has to be coffee throughout the majority of the day, but an afternoon beer in one of the beach front bars is an ideal pick-me-up and a great location for those meetings later in the day!
Which challenges or opportunities in the data cloud space do you think are most critical to address in 2025 and beyond?
The recruiter in me is always going to talk about talent shortages here, but the Digital Infrastructure has a real problem when it comes to identifying talent and this will be a key theme this year at DataCloud. Away from recruitment though, a key problem is power – what can the sector do to alleviate the strain on the grid globally?
What song is getting you ready for a day of networking at the DataCloud Global Congress?
Charlie is coming out to DataCloud with me and our music taste couldn’t be further apart – he finds my preference (country or indie) far too downbeat to start his day so I would have to allow him to have control of Spotify if we are gearing up for a busy day of networking!
Are you ready to build a career full of opportunities?
